Day 18, The Scotts!

Hiya!

So today has been a day of travel, but still a great day! I woke up a little after 9 and Pam and I had breakfast in the hostel and it was off to Scotland! We drove from Elterwater to Rosslyn Chapel, just outside of Edinburgh. The chapel was built as a collegiate chapel in the 15th century and has seen a lot of history and has a lot of folklore and mysteries attached to it. Defiantly worth reading about!

From here we drove for about 30 minutes to our hostel which is literally across the street from the Edinburgh Castle! After checking in we decided to take a stroll down the Royal mile in search of a few things. Pam was looking for a place that sold bread, which we found. I, on the suggestion from a friend of mine, was in search of a deep fried mars bar. Yes, you read that correctly. It is literally a mars bar fried in fat and is probably the most unhealthy thing ever! It is apparently very well known in Scotland and I was told I had to try it, I got about 2 bites in before I had to stop from the overwhelming feeling that my arteries were clogging, but regardless of the unhealthiness. I have to admit it was pretty tasty, but will not be a staple in my diet anytime soon. Another thing I was recommended by this friend of mine was Haggis… which isn’t so tasty. I got about a bite down and said no more! Ill stick with my salads and costa chia teas from now on!

I do have some good news to share! So the catalyst for this blog was my decision to change my lifestyle and stop being unhealthy, and loose weight. Well today I took a photo of my self and put it side by side with a photo from about 6 months ago and I was a bit in shock. You can see that my face is slimmer and more defined, but you can also see that I even look happier, my eyes look dead in the first picture, probably because thats where I was heading. I mean, I know I have lost weight, but to see the results side by side was really an eye opener. After seeing this I shared the photo on Instagram and Facebook and the response and support I have gotten has been amazing, so thank you to everyone who have shared their kind words of encouragement, I’m not stoping or giving up! I am sad to be going home soon, but I am excited to start getting my life sorted and getting back in the gym! Tomorrow were off on a tour and to explore the city!
