Update: Optifast Day 1&2

Hi everyone!

So I am almost done with my second day of Optifast! So here is my recap:

I went to meet with the doctor on Wednesday, got all the necessary tests like a physical and EKG, then went over my history with food. We talked about my goals and what my program would be like. Then the nutritionist came in and I also spoke with her about pretty much the same thing, they gave me some helpful tips on being successful with this plan. After the meetings I ordered my “food”. I ended up ordering 10 Chocolate and 10 Vanilla ready to drink shakes, a box of the chocolate bars, tomato soup and the vanilla shakes. This gave me much more than I needed, as I am supposed to have minimum of 5 products a day, but I wanted to have extra lying around just in case. After getting my food I went to the group class where there was only one other person and the dietitian. We went over the introduction to the “lifestyle course” and basic information. I was worried about the kind of support I would have, but I felt so welcome and absolutly no judgement, it was a great feeling. So, on to what the past few days have been like…

Day one wasnt to hard, suprisingly. I did find my self obssesing over food all day though. I ended up having 6 of the optifast “meals” 4 shakes, a bar and a soup. It was so nice to have the soup in the evening, something savory defiantly helped because the shakes are pretty sweet. The weirdest thing was going to sleep on a fairly empty stomach, Night was usually the time that I would binge on food so going to sleep with my stomach growling was hard to do and honestly I didn’t sleep much.

Today was harder, I was ok in the morning but as the day went on my energy started to go downhill fast, not only that but my concentration too. Reducing your calorie intake really does take a lot out of you. I was also feeling dizzy, but I ate a bar and started feeling better. I finally got a second wind a few hours before my shift ended and I got through the day ok! Supposedly tomorrow is supposed to be the hardest, so we will see, but I will push through and still have a great day!

So thats my update for now, I am going to be changing my posting schedule as my weigh-in days at the clinic are on Wednesdays. So I will be posting Weigh-in’s on Wednesdays, and then posts on Friday and Monday!

Hope you all are well and have a great weekend!
