Backpacks, Lobs, and Ducks

Hey everyone! I don’t have much an update for you, not much has happened since Friday. Thank you so much for the response I have gotten on my last post, the support is amazing! Since posting that I do feel much better, like I have let some of the pain go.

Optifast is going great! I was liking the chocolate shakes, but they taste horrible now. I could go back to the vanilla, but they are worse! So, I’m sticking with the chocolate, like I have said. its not about the taste! I still cant believe I keep losing the weight! Looking at the big picture, I still have about 140 pounds to loose, but I am well on my way with 54 pounds gone so far!

Hiking is one of my favorite things to do. Since I moved from Utah I haven’t done much, but I just pulled my hiking pack out and got a visual example of how much I have lost! Last time I used this bag I was 335 pounds, I’m now 54 pounds lighter and couldn’t be happier!

I also got my haircut this week, part of me didn’t think I deserved a haircut. This is something I have struggled with every day, being ok with how much I have done and rewarding my self in ways other than food. So taking a step idn the right direction, I decided that I deserved and haircut and to feel good! I was sick of throwing my hair up into the same messy top knot. So I got a lob! (a longer version of a bob). And I love it! I was scared to veer away from having length, especially because I didn’t know how it would affect the way my face looks, but I couldn’t be happier! 🙂 I used to hate going to the hair dressers because I hated how “fat” I looked once my hair was all wetted back, and I was in the high neck smocks. This time was different, yes I am still over weight, But I could see the difference in my face, and I wasn’t afraid of looking in the mirror!

I also have been pushing my self to walk more, even if it’s just adding little things, like parking farther away from a destination. Or taking the stairs instead of an elevatoraghd. Every bit of exercise really does help, not only mentally, but physically as well! I discovered my favorite new spot at work the other day, it’s in the center of the business park I work in. There is a water fall, a huge pond, and a lot of ducks and turtles. It’s like a little slice of serenity and peace. And my new favorite spot to spend my lunch Breaks. It’s so much nicer than staying in the office, or sitting in my car. Getting that fresh air just re energizes me for the rest of the day! Do you guys have a favorite spot?
