Life Update

Hey everyone!

I don’t have a long thought provoking post for you guys today, those don’t come very often! Instead I wanted to update you on what I have been doing the past few days, as they have be very long and emotionally fueled.

So yesterday at 5 am I got up and headed to long beach airport and flew in to Utah. This trip was planned for over a month but it’s not something I talked about because I wasn’t going on a holiday or anything meant to be “fun”.  I went to see my grandma, who is sick and in a hospital, I haven’t seen her in over 6 months and it was such a blessing to be able to see her before school starts. On my way to the hospital I ate a package of peanuts that I got from the Airport. Ya I feel like an idiot, but its the choice I made and I have to deal with it. I didn’t let it ruin my time with my grandma, who has always been my best friend and also played a hand in raising me.

After spending about 3 hours with her I had to leave, although I really didn’t want to, it was so nice to be there with her. I also got to see my friend and travel partner in crime, pam! Who so kindly gave me a ride to the airport from the rental car office, so I didn’t have to take the shuttle. While going through security I ran into an old friend from high school who is moving to northern California, it was so oddrandom that we ran into each other there but it was soooo nice to see her! While on the plane, next to the cutest toddler ever, who spent the entire trip hitting me with her  “princess snake” and kicking me, I had a thought. HOW do people who travel for work do it?! It’s nothing but sitting on a plane for a few hours, but for some reason by the end I was absolutely exhausted! To be fair the whole day was draining, but I still don’t get how people travel (my aunt is one of them) for work do it!

Fast forward I got home and fell asleep at about 9:30 only to get up this morning at 5 am again! Yes, for a reason. Today was my first day of school! It went great, honestly I feel like I am ready and it is the right time. There are doubts, considering my past experience with school, but I am finally willing to put in the time and work!

  1. How nice was it to meet up with your grandma 🙂 I hope she is well. I’m on day 2 of 84 of this exercise program. I’m sore, but it’s refreshing. It’s doable! I normally struggle to stay with a routine, so my challenge is to stay with this program until the end. I just have to work up the courage to enter the man domain on weights day!

      1. I’m on day 4 of Lee labrada’s Lean Body program. It involves weights and cardio, with more of a focus on weights. While it’s designed to lose weight, I’m paranoid about the excess skin on my arms and thighs. It’s starting to sag abit, and while I accept the whole thing, I just want to minimize the effects. Thanks, I’m going ok with it, I just need to stick with it!

  2. Glad you got to go visit your grandma before school starts.

    Utah is so beautiful and I miss my friends in Utah dearly. I went to SUU and lived in Southern Utah, Cedar City, for almost 4 years. I’m back in southern Cali now, San Diego, my hometown.

    I started following your blog and Instagram months ago and you gave me that bit of extra motivation I needed to start my own weight fast. I started my program June 22 and I’m quickly approaching my 50 pounds lost mark.
